Our school population
Marshall Road State School has a stable population with enrolments from the local area. Students who start at the
school in their Prep year nearly always stay and complete their schooling with
us until the end of year 6. This creates a strong sense of community and builds
enduring family relationships across our local area. For those families ken to
know if they are in our catchment area please consult the school
catchment area map.

We are proud of our school's

Out-of-school-hours care
Kidszone is the name of our out-of-hours care which operates during school term, school holidays and pupil-free days from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm.
Kidszone has recently increased its licensed capacity to 180 children and can generally accommodate all families in need of this service.
Please note, that as per the Kidszone Policies, if they are required to search for/confirm the whereabouts of your child, you will be charged a non-notification of absence fee.
House teams
There are three house teams in our school, each named after early settlers in our community as outlined on our
school history. Every child is placed in a house:
- Gibson (yellow)
- Holland (red)
- Toohey (blue)
Students compete in cross country and field events and athletics and swimming for house trophies. Children are encouraged to wear a house polo shirt on Mondays for parade and for all sporting events and a bathing cap in their house colour for the Swimming Carnival. These are standard uniform items and are available from the P&C uniform shop.
School community and P&C
We have a strong sense of community with many parents being active in the school. We usually start the year with a Welcome BBQ to welcome new and returning families to the school. There are a number of opportunities throughout the year for parents and grandparents to
volunteer (subject to COVID restrictions) and/or be involved in the
Parents and Citizens' Association (P&C). Events such as our school fete and movie night help bring the school community together.
Student services and support programs
We offer a range of
student services and support programs including peer support programs.
