As part of our iLearn program, students in Years 4 to 6 have the opportunity to bring their own iPad to school to support their learning. Our iLearn vision is to ensure student access to teaching and learning through a variety of modes including digital learning to support and enhance teaching practice and learning rigour. With access to an iPad, our students have the tools required to meet the digital demands of the Australian Curriculum.
Marshall Road State School's Technology room provides access to a class set of iPads, a range of robotics and coding resources. The students use the Technology room for Design and Digital Technologies lessons, lunchtime coding clubs, run by the technology teacher and technology captains. Design Technology lunchtime activities are run in the Makerspace room.
In 2020, with P&C support, 120 iPads were provided to Prep to Year 3 classes to support curriculum implementation within class contexts. This access to mobile devices within the junior school facilitates the development of digital skills alongside a range of curriculum areas.
