Enrolling at our school

Welcome to Marshall Road State School, we understand choosing a school for your child is a very important decision. Please contact our Enrolment Officer via enrolments@marshallroadss.eq.edu.au if you have any questions regarding our school.

If you are wishing to submit a Prep enrolment application, please refer to the information here. Our school will not be accepting 2027 Prep enrolment applications until Tuesday 27 January 2026 at 9:00am.

 

Enrolment Process for Year 1 - 6 families:

1.  Check that your residential address i​s within our catchment area via EdMaps

2.  ​Organise electronic copies of the following docu​mentation for your student application form: 

  • Student's birth certificate.  Please note:  if both parents were not born in Australia, you must provide proof of your child's Australian citizenship (e.g. Australian passport, Australian citizenship certificate), PLUS proof of parent's immigration status if BOTH parents are recorded as born overseas on child's birth certificate
  • Proof of residency requirements: Parents or legal guardians who wish to enrol their child at the school are required to demonstrate that the student's principal place of residence is within the catchment area. Current proof of residency at the address indicated can be provided as follows:
    1. One p​rimary source – a current lease agreement (the lease agreement must be for 12 months or longer from the child's commencement at school), rates notice, or unconditional contract of sale, AND
    2. One secondary source – a utility bill (e.g. electricity, gas) showing this same address and parent's/legal guardian's name.If the principal is not satisfied that the documentation provided by an applicant adequately demonstrates that the address stated is the student's principal place of residence, then the principa​l may request further sources of proof of residency.
  • ​​​​An​​y academic or specialist reports that may be useful.​
3. Complete our online Student Application Enrolment Form 
Please note, Marshall Road State School uses a third-party provider called Enquiry Tracker to collect information via this online form for the purpose of responding to your enquiry. To view how Enquiry Tracker manage your personal information, please refer to their privacy policy which can be viewed on the Enquiry Tracker website​.

Enrolment applications cannot be accepted unless all documentation is completed and received.  Once your child's enrolment is processed, our Enrolment Officer will be in contact to sight originals of required documentation and to arrange the next steps in our enrolment process, including an interview with one of our Leadership Team members.​

Enrolment Interview

During your enrolment interview with one of our Leadership Team, you will have the opportunity to learn more about our school and share your child's interests and learning needs.  As part of this enrolment process you will also have several consent forms to review and complete:

  • Enrolment Agreement
  • ICT Users Agreement

At Marshall Road State School, the majority of our permission forms as organised through the parental portal, QParents.  Our friendly office staff will provide you with assistance to registration for this platform.  The enrolment permission forms that are managed through QParents include:

  • Student Resource Scheme
  • State School Consent
  • Third Party Website Consent
  • Swimming Permission

QParents offers a convenient, safe and private app to help parents and carers manage important details of their children's journey. Within QParents, you can access information about:

  • attendance details
  • report cards
  • invoices and payment history
  • positive behaviour
  • consent management
