School sport plays an important role in supporting the physical, social, and emotional well-being of our students in Years 4 to 6. Held on Friday afternoons, the program encourages active participation, teamwork, resilience, and a healthy lifestyle.

Inter-school sport is offered twice a year in ten-week blocks, with students able to participate in sports such as netball, touch football, and soccer. These opportunities help build confidence, foster friendships, and develop cooperative skills. Students who do not participate in inter-school sport take part in structured and supervised games at school, ensuring all students are actively engaged.

Students travelling to external sporting venues are required to pay a bus fee.

Throughout the year, students also take part in whole-school sporting events including:

  • School Cross Country
  • Senior Sports Day
  • Junior Sports Day
  • Senior Swimming Carnival
  • Junior Swimming Carnival

These events promote school spirit, personal achievement, and inclusive participation for all students.

House Sporting Teams

Our school has three house teams, each named in honour of early settlers from our local community, as reflected in our school's history. Every student is assigned to a house upon enrolment, with siblings placed in the same house to foster family spirit and connection.

  • GIBSON (Yellow)
  • HOLLAND (Red)
  • TOOHEY (Blue)

Students represent their house in a range of events throughout the year, including Cross Country, Track and Field, and Swimming Carnivals. Points earned at these events contribute to the awarding of perpetual house trophies, encouraging teamwork, school spirit, and healthy competition.

Students are encouraged to wear their house-coloured polo shirt for all sporting events and on Mondays for parade. These items are part of the standard school uniform and can be purchased from the P&C Uniform Shop.

Swimming

Swimming is an integral part of our Physical Education curriculum during Terms 1 and 4. Each week, students participate in swimming lessons delivered by our specialist Physical Education teacher in collaboration with a qualified swimming coach. These sessions focus on developing water safety, confidence, and essential swimming skills.

All students are expected to participate unless a valid medical certificate is provided or an exemption is granted through a parent interview with the Principal.
